TRANSCRIPT FOR THE JON MONKI INTERVIEW BY PRIME 99FM
Cheryl: Welcome to the Chickens To Evening show, only here on Prime 99FM! Hello there fellow listeners, I am Cheryl.
Desmond: And this is Desmond. Today, we have invited a very special guest star, which we will be interviewing later on. He is known as the King of Rock and Roll. He is an ex-member of a very successful rock band, Ants Like Dogs. He is Jon Monki the monkey!
Cheryl: Yes, chicken. Jon Monki’s Microphone Hero World Tour featuring his latest hit singles like, Left Now (Na Na Na), Cockroach On The Ceiling, I Write Equations Not Sums and Single Gentlemen (Put A Glove On It) that was held last night at the Croscrian Outdoor Stadium was a huge blast that everyone enjoyed!
Desmond: Okay, now let us welcome, Jon Monki! (claps)
Jon: Hey, there. Nice to meet you, Desmond and Cheryl.
Cheryl: It is my pleasure, Jon. Thanks for coming down to the studio here today for this interview. So, how was your sold-out concert last night?
Jon: Oh, the audiences were great! Whenever I threw bananas, coconuts or durian at them, they would practically scream their heads off and catch it. They were such enthusiastic and hyper bunch. (laughs) They are also very co-operative too. For example, when I ask them to sing like donkeys, they did! And they were such good donkey-imitators.
Desmond: Ah, yes. That is how Croscrian animals are. Anyway, you have made phenomena by topping the Croscrian Top 20 Charts with three songs from the same album, I Am… Brad Pitt. How do you feel about that?
Jon: I was astonished to find out that when the latest hit, Cockroach On The Ceiling made it to the charts too. I did not even realize I had three of my songs on the charts until my manager told me so. I was ecstatic. (smiles brightly)
Cheryl: Well, I suppose that is how you feel when you are such a legendary rock star. Going on, recently, there have been rumours going around that you are dating The Betty’s, Tailor Slow. Is that true?
Jon: Of course not! That is just plain ridicule. Tailor and I are nothing more than good friends. You can have my best friend, Justout Timbertree, to “testify”.
Desmond: (laughs) There should be no need for that. I believe that all your fans will have their undying faith in you. Next question, in your latest album, your not-so-famous song, Another One Eats The Dust, have been claimed that it was copied from an old song called Another One Bites The Dust by Queen. What are your sentiments?
Jon: I created all the songs in my album. So I shall commit no plagiarism. Moreover, I have never heard of such band, much less their songs. So I guess it is just coincidence. And no company has yet to sue me for such ‘crime’.
Cheryl: I am sure that is coincidence too. We shall stop here for now. Once again, Prime 99FM would like to thank, Jon Monki for this interview.
